It is with shock and extreme sadness to announce the death of Spanky Brown. He was a beloved friend who was one of the best comedians to ever perform in the Comedy House. He found his way into our hearts in 1997 at an Open Mic at the Comedy House Theatre in Savannah, Ga. The world is just not as funny without Spanky Brown.

His friends are posting:

“This is a tough one.” Akintude

“My heart is hurting to the core.” Shaun Jones

” Comedian Byron Yeldell (Spanky Brown)… is great to know that we were the type of friends that we could call if we were in need…” Nick Lewis

“Great comic and a great friend!” MG Gaskin

“Comedy has lost another legend.” Barbara Carlyle

“Most of our talk always ended with you saying you hoped I would get bit in the face by the aids monkey. This is truly a sad day for the comedy world.” Andy Crutchfield

” #Unbelievable” Tony Luewellyn

“‘This is some hot burning bullshit.’ Going to miss you man!” Joel Pace

“The comedy world just lost one of the funniest, kindest human beings to ever hold a mic.” Julie Scoggins

“Rest In Peace to our friend Comedian Spanky Brown. “Spanky Brown was a wonderful guy. He brought out the best in everyone around him. He will be sorely missed by his family, his friends, and audiences everywhere.” – Tom Griswold, Bob and Tom Show

“He was such a good comedian. I could stand-up right now and do 45 minutes of his greatest jokes! Now he takes his one of kind jokes and his excellent taste in music to God. RIP you’re booked on the biggest stage ever!” Peter Hamlett
