Special KComedian/Writer/Radio Personality/Actor Karl “Special” K. Douglas holds it down daily on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show; the funniest and fastest growing syndicated radio morning show in the country. His voice is heard by millions in over 65 affiliate markets. He has amassed tens of thousands of followers on social media.

His on-air segments include the outrageous fake entertainment report, “News You Absolutely, Positively, Can’t Use” , the “Top Five”, and his newest features; the politically incorrect radio game show “Racial Jeopardy” and “Hip-Hop Translations for the White Listeners”. In addition, he is the solo comedy writer for the morning show, and “go to” guy for on-point political analysis.

Multi-talented as a writer, comedian, and personality, he never stops moving ahead in the competitive entertainment business, also tasked as a writer and actor on the TV One sitcom “The Rickey Smiley Show”, and a writer and contributor to Fox TVs’ highly rated nightly show, “Dish Nation”. As a stand up comedian, he tours clubs and theaters nationally as a headliner and for over 3 years was the house emcee for the country’s longest running urban comedy club, Atlanta’s Uptown Comedy Corner. He is preparing a Vol. 2 of “Unfit Parent” a comedy CD of his greatest radio hits. He has a book “100 Problems, 100 Solutions” a wickedly clever, satirical take on advice therapy.

Special K has toured with the “Best” in the business: Sommore, Mo’Nique, Mike Epps, Fantasia, DL Hughley, Arnez J, BruceBruce, Katt Williams and Kevin Hart. He has also appeared on our TV Tubes across the nation with his multiple appearances on BET ComicView, TVONE’s “Who Got Jokes”, Martin Lawrence’s 1st Amendment Stand Up, Bounce TV’s “Off The Hook”, The Mo’Nique Show and he has held the lead part in the movie “Strip Off”.

specialkbioformal2Prior to joining the Rickey Smiley Show, Special K was heard on The Kim Peterson Show – Talk Radio (Atlanta, Ga), Mo and Special K in the Morning – Clear Channel 107.1 (Augusta, Ga), and 790 The Zone Two Live Stews. Special K’s rise to fame is fueled by his
share of adversaries such as dropping out of high school, living on the street, and 18 months of incarceration. Each of these incidents could have derailed his career. Instead, these incidents became motivation to his stand up comedy. Also, they are the basis for his Project 180 a mentoring program that helps young people make better decisions for themselves. Special K’s delivery is smooth, raw, yet intellectual.

Upcoming projects include a comedian based reality show he’s producing and a traveling road show called “Laugh Therapy”, a love and relationship advice seminar that is truly unique and tremendously effective. With television, radio, and print he is truly a triple threat! This is one funny guy whose star is truly on the rise!

It also profiles Rickey as he masters the riggers of radio with a whimsical spin on office politics, social issues, celebrity appearances, and music – all threaded around rich humor.

Asked about being one of the busiest and most successful comics in the world, Smiley shares, “I love what I do and enjoy getting up every day with the expressed purpose of bringing joy into the lives of others through laughter. The greatest satisfaction I can receive is knowing that my talents are a form of escapism that brings happiness into so many deserving lives. To be blessed with sold out tours, a successful radio show and 2 Television platforms is more than I could ever have dreamed and I am committed to working harder than ever to continue to be a positive influence and all around best entertainer I can be.” Rickey Smiley

Arnez J @ the Comedy HouseArnez J., while a favorite in the South for the past 15 years, is quickly emerging as one of the hottest, most talked about comedic artists in the game. His raw energy, talent and comedic skill quickly landed Arnez the coveted hosting slot on BET’s longest-running comedy series “Comic View” for two seasons joining the ranks of hosts such as D.L. Hughley and Cedric the Entertainer. His hilarious new comedy special “Racially Motivated” is now available on Netflix.

Arnez J.’s charisma and physical agility are unforgettable. “J is a whirling dervish on stage–he runs, jumps, spins, slides, slips, and mugs through a performance, acting out many of his bits while describing them,” wrote Doug Kaufman in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Arnez admits of himself “I’ve always expressed my things through mannerisms and facial expressions rather than speaking.”

On his own at age 14, Arnez lied about his age to get a job at a gas station to work his way through school. With dreams to become a professional baseball player, Arnez began working as a flight attendant when those baseball plans fell through. It was while working as a flight attendant that Arnez discovered his comedic talent. He realized that he had the ability to keep the passengers and crew laughing and, upon encouragement from friends, he made his first attempt at stand-up comedy. After that first night on stage, he knew what he wanted to do. He left his job with the airlines and made the decision to devote all of his time to a career in comedy.

Arnez got a chance to combine his ambitions as both an athlete and performer when he was recruited by scouts for the famed Harlem Globetrotters basketball team who saw his very physical comedy routine at a local basketball game. However, after several months, a knee injury ended his Globetrotters career, finally clearing the way for him to devote himself full time to standup comedy.

An Atlanta native, Arnez began working the comedy circuit in Georgia and quickly became one of “Hotlanta’s” funniest newcomers. A finalist in the “Bay Area Black Comedy Competition,” he was immediately noticed by the entertainment industry and was asked to make his first television appearance on Showtime’s “Comedy Club Network.” Numerous television appearances soon followed including appearances on “The Keenan Ivory Wayans Show,” “Louie Anderson’s Comedy Showcase,” Comedy Central’s “Make Me Laugh,” NBC’s “Friday Night Videos,” “The Mo’Nique Show”, Russell Simmons’ “Def Comedy Jam,” his own BET “Comic View Grandstand Hour Special,” and “Comedy Central Presents: Arnez J.” He was most recently seen headlining Showtime’s “Shaquille O’Neal Presents: All Star Comedy Jam.”

Today, Arnez is widely considered one of the best working artists, with a polished and highly entertaining standup routine that keeps his audiences entertained without having to use profanity. In keeping with his plan, Arnez keeps up a dizzying pace performing for sold out crowds at arenas and other venues across the country.
